Work is underway to consider the best arrangements for command and control rooms. Much of this work involves consideration of the technical issues around bringing together different IT systems. There are No proposals to close control rooms. The FBU are involved in this work, with key priorities around our members jobs and their long term future within the SFRS.
The FBU have recently agreed with the Senior Leadership Team that under the "Transfer & Matching" arrangements a mobility clause should apply to members who do not meet the direct match criteria. This means that any uniformed member will not be asked to work outwith the previous employment territory unless; 1) They volunteer to work in another territory 2) They accept the offer of a promoted post This should give a reassurance that no individual shall be asked to travel unreasonably and that extensive travel will not be used against members.
