We are now just over one week away from the Scottish pensions rally at Parliament. This will be the most significant gathering of firefighters so far in this campaign and is an ideal opportunity for our members to put pressure on Scottish politicians over the UK Govt pension changes.
A number of busses are running from across the country and we encourage you to attend. Contact your local officials for departure times and pick-up points.
The start time has been moved forward to 11.00am to allow members of the Scottish Government to speak to the members ahead of First Ministers Questions.
On the day we will be joined by members of the Scottish Police Federation whose members are facing similar attacks on their pensions scheme, which is all but identical to our own and along with the firefighters pension scheme are the only two schemes which are funded directly from departmental budgets.
We must show our Parliamentarians that we are serious over our intention to fight for fair pensions.
